Four Receive George T Scholarship Awards for 2010

The George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund has issued four awards for the 2010/2011 academic year.   Three awardees are students at Kingston College and one is a KC old boy attending college in the United States.
The three KC students are:

  • Romaine Blair
  • Daron Harrison
  • Delano Rose

Daron Harrison is currently working on his CAPE studies having aced the recent CXC exams with 10 passes including nine distinctions. Daron is also a student of the Taekwondo martial art and was the recipient of the Jamaica Taekwondo McKay Security Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Scholarship.  You can read more about Daron’s accomplishments here:

Rasheed Malcolm is a KC graduate who is enrolled in studies at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee on a football scholarship. He was co-captain of the Kingston College Manning Cup team for the 2009 season.
Romaine Blair and Delano Rose are in form 10 Gibson.  Romaine does track and field while Delano plays basketball.

The George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund was started by the Atlanta chapter of the KCOBA in honor of the legendary football player, Jamaica National Coach, and KC Old Boy, the late George Thompson, OD.  Each year it awards funds to assist current KC students and KC Old Boys attending college with school expenses.
