12 year old Jabari Anglin of St. Alban's Primary is the first recipient of the Lord Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, The Rt. Rev. Dr Alfred C Reid Scholarship.

The now 7 Holding student and his mother Telema Phillips were on hand to receive the scholarship cheque from KCOB president Dr Ray Fraser at his office at Winchester Medical centre on Wednesday September22, 2010. Due to prior commitments, the Anglican Bishop was unavoidably absent and arrangement has been made for Dr Alfred C Reid to receive Jabari and his parents at Church House at a later date

The Lord Bishop scholarship which is tenable at Kingston College and covers tuition, books and uniform, was as a result of a breakfast meeting of the KCOB Jamaica executive with the Anglican prelate. Dr Reid charged the august alumni to come up with a proposal to assist inner city Anglican schools. Following deliberation by the Dr Fraser led executive, it was unanimously agreed that a scholarship be awarded to an inner city lad, based on certain criteria and in honour of the Lord Bishop.

Based on His performance in the 2010 GSAT examinations as well as disciplinary conduct, Jabari Anglin was chosen by the principal of St Alban's primary, Mrs Marjorie Hudson. The announcement was met with heartiest congratulations by teachers and students of the Denham Town community in which the school is located as well as the citizens of Rema where Jabari was born, and at the Boys' Town Club where his father Fitzroy 'Pila ' Anglin is a celebrated football player.

KCOB and St Albans alumnus Walter Bygrave was overjoyed and immediately volunteered to play a mentorship role through monitoring of Jabaris' academic performance, conduct and welfare to ensure that good grades are maintained, the lad is comfortable and discipline is upheld as a basis of renewing the scholarship. He immediately commenced his duties by extolling the virtues of outstanding KCOB/ St Alban's alumnus such as Collie Smith, Derrick Denniser, Godfrey Fisher, Cecil Taffe, Garth Soares, Sydney Slater and Owen Bruce.
