KCOBA USA, Inc. held its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in the Bronx, New York. The atmosphere was filled with passion and positive energy, reflecting the renewed optimism and dynamism that has permeated the Association in recent years.

Kingston College’s own Allan Morgan who captained the school’s football team for the 2012 and 2013 seasons has been awarded a football scholarship to attend Jacksonville University in Florida starting in August 2014.

KCDTF 2013 Annual Report
In 2013, the KCDTF received 26 donations from individuals and organizations totaling J$1.2 million according to the recently released report from the fund. This distressing news is compounded by the fact that the Jamaican inflation rate is averaging 11.4% while the fund is only growing at 4.4%.

The Atlanta chapters George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund has increased the amount of funds allocated for awards for the 2014/15 academic year. According to Guidance Counselor, Sonia Watson, “this is going to make so many more students and their parents happy.”

The National Youth Orchestra of Jamaica (NYOJ) visited Toronto as part of their scheduled tour of Canada (August 2 – 10, 2014).
