The 51st Roper Cup was shared between Kingston College and St Georges College on Saturday September 29th. The Roper Cup was played at Sabina Park for the first time in a long time, with six matches played on the day. The family event had a good show of support for the two schools hosting the competition with two invited teams of Jamaica College and Calabar High school.

Kingston College earned bragging rights with a hard fought 1-0 victory in the Under 19 (Manning Cup) category. St Georges can only blame themselves after creating enough goal scoring opportunities but failing to find the back of the net. It was a quality strike from Renalto Scarlett in the 41st minute that decided the outcome of the game.

The Under 16 teams played out to a 1-1 draw, in a very high tempo match where either team could have won. It was the curtain raiser for a good day of football which all the spectators enjoyed. In the Under 14 game, the Kingston College team cruised to a 4-0 victory with all their goals coming in the first half.

St Georges College's lone win came in the Under 35 game which STGC won 2-1. KC took the lead early, but STGC rallied to get the better of the Purples in a keenly contested encounter.

The Over 35 game, played for the Pancho Rankin Cup was a game of two halves. KC scored early and had their opponents on the ropes, smashing in two more goals to lead 3-0 at half time. But the Sky Blues responded in the second half, pulling back two goals to give themselves a real chance of grabbing something from the game. In the end KC were left hanging on for the win as the legs began to tire.

In the invitational game, Jamaica College Old Boys ran riot against Calabar Old Boys, hammering them 4-0 in a very one sided contest.
