Gerald Hector has been selected as a Howard University School of Business alumni exemplar. He will appear in the 45th Anniversary Prominent Alumni publication and will be recognized at the 45th Anniversary Banquet in Washington DC on October 2nd, 2015.
Hector is a prominent KC Old Boy and Ithaca College of New York Vice President of Finance and Administration. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Howard University and certificates from the College Business Management Institute at the University of Kentucky.
Gerald is married to college sweetheart and Howard alum (93 & 95) Sharon-Kaye Hector (formerly Smith). Their union has produced three children, Joshua, Timothy and Kezia. He is a sought after professional in regards to higher education matters. His white paper: Navigating the New Normal: Financial Imperatives for MSI Effectiveness and Avoiding Financial Exigency, is a must read for trustees and senior administrators.
The white paper has been transcribed into a video tutorial complete with worksheets and guides. He is a prominent speaker at AGB, NACUBO, SACUBO, but finds time to advise presidents and trustees on higher education financial management. He has given talks to trustees and presidents, and has a keen interest in seeing Minority Serving Institutions not only survive but strive.
