The David “Wagga” Hunt Scholarship Foundation’s annual fundraiser was held virtually in 2022 due to the pandemic.

It was under the Distinguished Patronages of the Jamaican Ambassador to the USA, Her Excellency, Audrey P. Marks, and Principals, Dave Myrie and Albert Corcho of Kingston College (KC) and Calabar High School, respectively.

Instead of the customary Red-Carpet Ball, this year’s fundraiser took place Virtually on Sunday, February 20, 2022, starting at 7:00 PM EST.

The foundation offers scholarships to deserving students at KC and Calabar in Kingston, Jamaica. To date, it has awarded over 35 scholarships exceeding US$106,000.

It was an entertaining evening highlighting the scholarship program via video clips, interviews, good-will messages, including the Jamaican Ambassador, testimonials from previous and present scholarship recipients and musical entertainment by renowned Jamaican reggae artists, including: Fab 5 Band, with Stephen “Cat” Coore, Lovindeer and Gem Myers, just to name a few.

This year the foundation honored one of Jamaica’s most noble daughters, Mrs. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, CD, three-time Olympic Games Gold Medalist, Businesswoman, and Philanthropist.
