KCOBA USA Inc. played its customary role of providing a cash award to one of the top performing male students. The occasion was The Union of Jamaican Alumni Associations USA Inc. (UJAA) 32nd Annual High School Graduate Awards Ceremony held on Monday, June 27, 2022.

The event honors graduating high school seniors of Jamaican Heritage and it is open to all seniors throughout the United States.

Covid19 and its lingering effects once again forced the event to be held virtually. The graduating seniors (honorees), their teachers, families & friends, invited guests, donors, and speakers participated via Zoom. The ceremony was also streamed live on YouTube.

This year, twenty-six (26) students were honored, and because of the virtual nature of the event, students from as far as Texas participated.

The association’s awardee was Mr. Isaiah Carrott, who attends Valley Stream High School – Valley Stream, NY. Isaiah has taken AP US Government and Politics, College Spanish, AP Calculus, AP US History and Physics. He is a member of the High Honor Roll. Isaiah will attend Hofstra University where he will major in Computer engineering. Congratulations and good luck, Isaiah!

KCOBA USA Inc. is a proud member of the Union of Jamaica Alumni Associations, and through partnerships like these, the association is able to fulfill part of its 501(c)(3) obligation, which is to support its local communities. Thanks to the Board for the continued support of our youths – near and far.
