Jamaicans in Atlanta recently turned out to represent their school at the High School Jamminz fundraiser organized by the Jamaica International Independence Festival SongCompetition (JIIFSC).
Over 12 Jamaican high schools were represented. Attendees arrived deck out in the adult version of their original high school uniforms.
It was something to behold as alumni overcame many hurdles to obtain a period replica of their high school attire. Some made their own outfits, other were able to buy them or order them from schools in Jamaica.
The program included a mini version of the popular school’s challenge quiz competition in Jamaica.
Prizes were awarded for the most authentic uniforms.
A great evening was had by all. It was a night of nostalgia. There was great camaraderie, and it was a great opportunity for networking.
