The Chairman of the KCDTF, Reynold Scott, has released plans for the redesign and upgrade of the North Street campus frontage, which includes the widening of the second entrance.

The redesign will consist of:

  1. Creating a canopy over the guard house to protect the guard, students and others from the elements. This main canopy will also display the motto of our school (Fortis Cadere Cedere Non Potest).
  2. Building a sanitary facility attached to the guard house.
  3. The present fence with chain link will be removed and replaced with a new metal work fence approximately 8 ft. high.
  4. The second entrance will be widened from 13 ft. to 18 ft.
  5. A parking area to accommodate approximately 10 cars will be added.

The plans previously approved by the School Board were presented to the Principal and Chairman and have been signed off for implementation.

The approximate costs of the improved frontage (without the walkway) is $10 Million and will be fully sponsored by the KCDTF Chairman.

Ground was broken on Friday, July 12 th by the School Board Chairman Michael Vaccianna, Principal Dave Myrie, Father Michael Brown and the Centenary Anniversary Secretary Dr. Patrick Dallas.

The occasion was witnessed by Archivist Ronnie Chin, Architect Peter Francis, Project Manager Horace Wright, along with KCDTF representatives Patrick McIntosh and Damian Todd. A number of KC students who attended showed keen interest in the future improvement of their school!

The entire redesign frontage is expected to be completed in 6-8 weeks.
