The Kingston College Old Boys’ Association of Georgia (KCOBA Georgia) is gearing up to celebrate a landmark occasion with its 25th Annual George Thompson Christmas Scholarship Dance on Saturday, December 14, 2024. This cherished event will take place at the Medlock Bridge Clubhouse in Alpharetta, Georgia, bringing together alumni and friends to support scholarships for Kingston College students in Jamaica.

The evening promises to be a vibrant and memorable affair, featuring entertainment from acclaimed saxophonist Quincy Chapman, music by DJ Cold Rice, and lively emceeing by Will Hart. Guests can look forward to a night of music, camaraderie, and community spirit, all in support of a noble cause.

Honoring Karl and Marcia Chambers

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of KCOBA Georgia’s Community Award to two distinguished members of the Atlanta Jamaican community: Karl and Marcia Chambers. This dynamic duo is widely recognized for their tireless dedication to education and youth empowerment through their leadership roles in the Integrity Children’s Fund (Integrity). Karl serves as President, while Marcia is a Director of this impactful organization.

Founded in 2002 and based in Georgia, Integrity Children’s Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to addressing the persistent challenge of illiteracy among at-risk children. Originally focused on helping children in Jamaica, Integrity has since expanded its mission to serve immigrant children in metro Atlanta, particularly in the Clarkston community.

Integrity Children’s Fund works to reduce illiteracy rates among underserved youth by offering programs that enhance mathematics and reading comprehension skills. The organization’s guiding belief is that literacy is a cornerstone of rational thinking and a critical factor in making positive life choices.

Over the past two decades, Integrity has provided more than $1.2 million in funding, benefiting nearly 600 students annually. These funds have supported educational opportunities for children in Jamaica’s inner-city communities and metro Atlanta, helping to break cycles of poverty and foster a brighter future for those in need.

A Night of Celebration and Giving Back

The 25th Annual George Thompson Christmas Scholarship Dance promises to be an evening that embodies the spirit of giving, celebration, and community. With the well-deserved recognition of Karl and Marcia Chambers’ extraordinary contributions, the event highlights the transformative power of education and the collective impact of community efforts.

Tickets to the event are expected to sell quickly as attendees join together to support Kingston College scholarships while honoring two individuals who have made a significant difference in the lives of countless children.
