Kingston College (KC) has achieved a major milestone in its Centenary celebrations with the announcement that full funding has been secured for the completion of the Douglas Forrest Building. This landmark project, named in honor of the esteemed former headmaster, is set to be finalized shortly, marking a significant step forward in modernizing the school’s infrastructure.
A Symbol of Progress and Legacy
The Douglas Forrest Building stands as a symbol of Kingston College’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities for its students. Its completion underscores the school’s dedication to maintaining a legacy of excellence in education, even as it prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
“We are pleased to announce that the full funding required to complete the Douglas Forrest Building has been secured,” shared Dr. Patrick Dallas of the KC Centenary Secretariat. “This significant project is on track for completion in the coming year, and we look forward to similar support for the other Centenary Projects.”
Centenary Documentary Added to the Celebrations
In alignment with its centennial themes of “100% Participation” and “Make This Your Best Gift Ever,” the Centenary Committee has announced a new addition to its list of commemorative projects. A KC Centenary Documentary will chronicle the institution’s rich history and remarkable achievements. The film will highlight the school’s origins, which were rooted in addressing socioeconomic barriers to secondary education for underprivileged boys in Jamaica, and will serve as a testament to its enduring impact on generations of students.
Rallying Support for the Century Ahead
As the school approaches this historic milestone, the Secretariat has called on alumni, parents, and well-wishers to continue their generous support. “Your continued generosity and engagement are essential as we work to modernize the school and ensure it is well-prepared for the century ahead,” they emphasized.
