Kingston College (KC) reveled in their dominance of Jamaican High school football recently. They were celebrating an extraordinary 2024 schoolboy football season at their historic North Street campus.
The champions claimed an impressive triple crown of victories, kicking off festivities just months ahead of the school’s centenary celebrations. KC reaffirmed their position as a powerhouse in Jamaican football, securing two senior titles and a junior championship.
The highlight of their season came on December 6, when the senior team captured their 17th Manning Cup title with a commanding 3-1 victory over first-time finalists St. Catherine High School. A week later, on December 14, KC added their 11th Olivier Shield to the trophy case with a thrilling 4-3 sudden-death penalty shootout win against daCosta Cup champions Garvey Maceo High School.
This Manning Cup triumph solidifies KC’s legacy as one of the giants of the competition, trailing only Jamaica College (31 titles) and St. George’s College (22 titles).
The victory also marked a personal milestone for head coach and technical director Vassell Reynolds, who joined the elite ranks of coaches to have won both the urban-area Manning Cup and rural-area daCosta Cup titles.
The success extended to KC’s junior team, who added another accolade to the school’s stellar season. On December 13, the Under-14 team edged out arch-rivals St. George’s College with a determined 1-0 win to claim the championship.
