The Kingston College Chapel Choir recently took center stage on the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) website’s Arts Page, which featured a glowing review of the choir’s annual Christmas concert.

The feature included interviews with key figures, offering an inside look at the choir’s enduring legacy and impact.

Joy Kelly, a writer, producer, and presenter with JIS Radio, conducted the interviews, beginning with the choir’s Musical Director, Audley Davidson. Davidson shed light on the meticulous preparation that goes into the choir’s performances, including annual auditions, rigorous training, rehearsals, workshops, and trips.

Davidson also emphasized the pivotal role played by the school’s alumni in supporting and sustaining the renowned choir.

The feature also highlighted the inspiring story of former choir member Joshua Swaby, who flew in from London mere hours before performing in the concert. A testament to the choir’s influence, Swaby has gone on to successfully audition for the prestigious Imperial College Chamber Choir in London, the flagship ensemble of Imperial College of Science and Technology.

Swaby, now a Commonwealth Scholar pursuing a master’s degree in environmental engineering, credited the Kingston College Chapel Choir for shaping him into the man he is today.
