Alton "Mice" Brown was a cornerstone of the KCOBAUSA NY Chapter, serving with distinction as Vice President, Treasurer, and Director for many years. In my brief time on board, I quickly recognized that Alton was more than just a board member, he was a driving force behind everything we did. He embodied the very essence of a "worker bee," tirelessly dedicated to advancing our mission and ensuring every initiative was executed with precision and care.
While our esteemed Senior Member, Mr. Norman Scott, lived a long and fulfilling life, Alton’s passing comes far too soon, leaving us grappling with a profound sense of loss. Losing two cherished members in the span of two months has been a heavy burden for our chapter to bear. Alton was central to our plans for 2025, bringing his characteristic focus and meticulous attention to detail to every project. His absence creates a void that will be difficult to fill.
Alton’s contributions to the chapter were only part of the remarkable man he was. His love and unwavering commitment to his daughter defined him. He was a devoted father, a man who approached his family with the same passion and dedication he brought to every endeavor. His life exemplified the values of love, sacrifice, and selflessness.
Today is not a day we imagined would come so soon. To speak of Alton in the past tense feels unreal. As we confront this reality, the silence he leaves behind is deafening. Yet, his voice echoes in our hearts: “Gentlemen, we have to get a move on this!” That phrase, so distinctly Alton, will remain with us as a testament to his energy, his urgency, and his relentless pursuit of progress.
Alton "Mice" Brown, you have been taken from us far too soon. Only the Father knows why your journey ended here, but we take comfort in the impact you made in your time with us. Walk good, my brother. Take your well-deserved bow, knowing your work, your spirit, and your legacy will forever inspire those of us who remain.
Fortis Then, Fortis Now, Fortis Forever.
