Kingston, Jamaica —
Yesterday marked a deeply emotional and unforgettable moment for three Kingston College Old Boys, as they reunited with the woman who helped lay the foundation of their lives nearly five decades ago.
Headly Reeves, Nicholas Foster, and Wayne Golding Sr., all graduates of Kingston College's Class of 1976, made a special visit to their former primary school principal, Sister Mary Benedict, now 94 years old. The reunion took place at Holy Family Primary School, located at 2 Law Street in Kingston, where the trio had first encountered Sister Benedict's enduring wisdom, discipline, and compassion during their early school years.
"Yesterday was a day of our greatest memory revisited," said Reeves, reflecting on the powerful experience. "It's hard to believe it's been 49 years since we graduated, but the values and lessons she taught us have remained with us every step of the way."
Sister Mary Benedict, though advanced in years, still exudes the quiet strength and grace that once guided hundreds of students through the critical years of their childhood. The three Old Boys were filled with gratitude and reverence as they shared laughter, stories, and heartfelt thanks with the woman who helped shape their characters.
"We are thankful for your life," said Golding Sr., speaking on behalf of the group. "And we are especially grateful for your continued influence in our lives."
The visit was a powerful reminder of the impact that dedicated educators have on their students—an impact that echoes far beyond the classroom and into the lives and achievements of the children they once guided.
As these three men returned to the place where their journey began, they honored not only a remarkable principal but the unbreakable bond between student and teacher, memory and legacy.
