The Annual General Meeting of the KCOBA, Atlanta Chapter, was held on Saturday, July 16, 2011. As a result of the elections, new Officers were chosen for the coming year.
The new president is Anthony Williams, who attended KC between 1975 and 1982, holds a bachelor's degree in economics from UWI and is currently studying Philosophy at Georgia State University. He has previously served as secretary and director of the chapter.
Before moving to Atlanta in 1997, he worked at the Bank of Jamaica, Mutual Life and Mechala Investments, formerly Sigma. He currently works as a Business Analyst for Atos, providing IT services to Coca-Cola. Williams will be assisted by Edwards as vice-president, Glen Laman as secretary and Earl Adams as treasurer.
Vice President, Seymour 'Ricky' Edwards, previously served as treasurer and secretary, and has been a member of the board of directors for several years. He also attended Kingston College from 1975-1982. He is a graduate of Georgia State University and Devry University's Keller Graduate School of Management.
The secretary, Glen Laman, is the outgoing president. He attended KC from 1962 until 1968. He is also editor of the KC Times. He is a certified IT Project Manager.
The returning treasurer, Earl Adams attended KC from 1969 until 1972; He is the developer and webmaster of the KC Times news magazine. A graduate of Georgia State University, he has worked in information technology for over 20 years and is currently senior programmer analyst at United Parcel Service.
Allan Miller, Conrad Jones and Derrick R. Wright were elected as directors to serve two years. Whylie Chambers, Mike Martin and Sedley Morris will serve the last year of their two year terms.
