The Annual General Meeting of the Kingston College Old Boys’ Association (Toronto Chapter) was held at the Agincourt Community Centre, 31 Glen Watford Drive, Scarborough, on Friday, July 23, 2011. Approximately 30 KCOBs attended the meeting which was called to elect a new Board of Directors and appoint the auditor for the ensuing fiscal year, in addition to allowing members the opportunity to bring appropriate business before the gathering.
Local counsel, Glen Miller presided over the election portion of the event which commenced after the incumbent president Lawrence Prendergast, dissolved the out-going Board and allowed for a 20-minute period for members to enjoy a jerk chicken meal and drinks. The earlier section of the meeting included tabling of the annual report and a review of the financials. At the conclusion of the election, Lawrence Prendergast, class of 1980, was re-elected by acclamation as president for another one year term.
The 2011 members of the Board of Directors are:
President - Lawrence Prendergast
Vice President - Clive Golding
Secretary - Oliver Lopez
Assistant Secretary - Jermaine Cowie
Treasurer - Everard Hoo
Director - Clive Foster
Director - Norman Wallace
Director - Wayne Stephens
Director - Lance Seymour
The Board is completed by Life Directors:
Dr. Frederick 'Buddy" McIntosh
Maurice "Eddie" Patterson
Alex "Franno" Francis
Ruddy Hart
Dale Keizs.
President Prendergast expressed his thanks to the membership for their vote of confidence and pledged to work with his colleagues in the other chapters to further the efforts to assist Kingston College. As usual, any gathering of KCOBs results in the inevitable reminiscing of “the life and times at KC”. Due to the strict adherence to the time schedule imposed by the supervisor of the venue, this informal aspect of the evening largely took place in the parking lot although a few diehards continued at a local watering hole.
