Kane Watson, 2011 National TT Singles champion, retained his title at the recent JTTA 3-day championship held at Kingston’s National Arena.

The triumph was bittersweet for Watson as it came on the same weekend that his maternal grandfather was laid to rest and served to enhance his already formidable reputation for mental toughness.

Throughout the championship Kane demonstrated sublime form, evidenced in part by his semi-final 4 ZIP demolition of fellow national representative, Simon Tomlinson. This was followed by an even more impressive destruction of many time champion Joseph Dibbs by the same margin in the final.

Watson also captured the men’s doubles with fellow fortis Dale Parham as well as the mixed doubles crown.

Also in the money were former purples racquet wielder Alphanso Murray who captured the open ‘B’ category and outgoing KC skipper Jordan Hazle who took top honours in the open ‘C’ division.
