Jamaica’s Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) recently visited Atlanta for an Access Jamaica Expo on October 25 and 26, 2019.

This visit was facilitated by Honorary Consul Dr. Elaine Bryan’s newly formed group, “Jamaicans and Partners of Georgia” (JAPOG).

The expo’s purpose was to resolve Passport and Citizenship issues for the Jamaican Diaspora in Georgia and those willing to trek in from nearby States.

Dr. Bryan’s husband, Gregory, a software engineer, implemented a registration system on the Consulate’s website (www.jamaicanconsulateatlanta.org) allowing registrants to select their day of attendance, total number of people in their party needing service and type of service needed.

Over 1200 Jamaicans registered for Passports, Citizenship Papers, Work Permits and Visas. It was the first time this sort of venue was used and over 890 Jamaicans were serviced at this temporary Jamaican Consulate Office established at the JW Marriott Hotel in Buckhead.

KC was represented by Atlanta chapter president, Alvin Binns and Vice President, Leighton Hollar.
