Ambassador Stephen Vasciannie has completed a book of essays on Caribbean Law and Policy. The University of Technology, Jamaica Press will be the publisher.
The book includes the following essays:
(1) Race and Jamaican Society -- Three Propositions
(2) Constitutional Change in Jamaica: The Monarchy, the Final Court and Questions of Abolition
(3) Diplomatic Immunity: A Review of Jamaican State Practice
(4) Reforming the Inter-American Human Rights System
(5) The Montego Bay Convention on the Law of the Sea: Jamaica and the Rule of Law, and
(6) Ian Brownlie: A Caribbean Student's Appreciation.
Stephen is a Kingston College old boy and former president of Utech. Previously he was the Deputy Solicitor-General and principal of the Norman Manley Law School. Vasciannie served as Jamaica 's Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary to the United States from 2012 up to July 17, 2015.
He is also a former chair of the board of governors of Kingston College.
