The premiere of the Jamaica International Independence Foreign Song Competition (JIIFSC) was a smashing success.
Six of the seven finalists performed live in Atlanta. The seventh finalist, Zeena Banks performed virtually from London.

First and second prizewinners also received a trophy.
A five Judge panel chose the winners. The Judges results were certified by the Honorable Jewel Scott, Superior Court Judge in Clayton County, Georgia.
The founder and president of the competition, Garfield "Gary G" McCook, and Queen Adessa of the Connect to Jam Show hosted the event which was presented live via JIIFSC’s Zoom, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube, platforms to a Worldwide audience.
Jannice Oshea read the keynote speech from Alrene Barr.
Twiggi, and E Parry Hinds gave Guest performances.
All performances were accompanied by the Swatt Band: on keyboards Homar Webster, on guitar, Kneah Francois, on base, Ryan Wilson, and on drums Troy Wilson.
Gary McCook was introduced by his sons Gavin and Andrew and the love of his life, JIIFSC s first lady Andrea Yolanda McCook.
There were sixty invited guests in physical attendance at the Caribbean Life Television Studios (CLTV) in Stone Mountain, GA. They included the Honorable Jewel Scott, Superior Court Judge; President of the Caribbean association of Georgia, Samantha Samuels; President of Atlanta Jamaican association, Tony Gray; President of the Kingston College Old Boys Association, Alvin Binns and from Rythmz of the Caribbean, Kathy Dyke.
Special invited guests who could not attend included Dr Noel Erskine, Dr Glen Laman, and Suzette Arnold, President of the Jamaican Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta.
Special mention was made of the first artist who entered the competition, hailing from Germany, King Noah who sang Sweet Sweet Jamaica.
Production manager for the event was E Parry Hinds from Kool Running’s Jamaican Restaurant, sound engineer was DJ Migrane, IT manager was Christine Newton.
One of the greatest in our history as a people was Dr Martin Luther King, who gave the famous I have a dream speech in which he said, “I have a dream that one day we will get to the Promised Land.”
President and Founder of JIIFSC Garfield McCook also had a dream that one day he would create a platform for artists in the diaspora to display their talents.
That dream was realized on Saturday, July 31st 2021.
